Fred Friday scored a brace for AZ Alkmaar who lost 4-2 at home to PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch top flight on Saturday,Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Friday who joined Alkmaar from Norwegian side Lillestrom, was on target in the 17th and the 85th minute of the defeat in his 14th Eredivise appearance.
Vincent Enyeama was missing in action for Lille who lost by a lone goal to Lorient on Saturday. The 34 year old has made 22 appearances this season and the former Super Eagles captain has kept five clean sheets this term conceding 27 goals. The win was Lorient’s first win in 14 away games.
In England, Alex Iwobi played all 90 minutes for Arsenal who suffered a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea who paraded Moses for 81 minutes at Stamford Bridge. Moses has scored four goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for the current English Premier League leaders.
Ademola Lookman was handed his first English Premier League start for Everton who edged AFC Bournemouth 6-3 at Goodision Park.
Lookman has so far made three appearances for the Toffees since joining from Charlton Athletic last month. He was replaced in the 71st minute by Kevin Mirallas.
At the Vicarage Road, Isaac Success made a return to action for Watford who defeated ten man Burnley 2-1. The Nigerian forward who had missed the Hornets last seven EPL games replaced goal scorer Mbaye Niang in the 81st minute of the encounter for his seventh appearance in his debut season in England.
In the Sky Bet Championship, Sone Aluko played for 78 minutes in Fulham’s 1-0 defeat to Birmingham City and was replaced by Gohi Bi Cyriac. Aluko has played 28 games, scoring four goals.
Carl Ikeme returned to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ goal but conceded twice as the Wolves lost 2-1 to Burton Albion. It was his 23rd appearance for the 18th placed team in the Championship division in England.
His compatriot, Bright Enobakhare was introduced in the 65th minute for George Saville. Enobakhare has featured in nine games for Wolves this season.
In Belgium, Henry Onyekuru played all 90 minutes and fired blanks for Eupen who lost 2-1 at home to Waasland-Beveren on Saturday.
Christian Osaguoana made his second appearance for KV Mechelen who lost 2-0 to Oostende. Joseph Akpala was in action for Michelle for ten minutes. Osaguoana came on for Yohan Croizet in the 72nd minute, while Akpala came on for Nany Dimata for his sixth appearance.
In Turkey, Godfrey Oboabona made his third Turkish Cup appearance for Rizespor who defeated Sanliurfaspor 2-1. Bright Edomwonyi was an unused substitute while new signing, Nosa Igiebor was not listed.
