Europa League: Friday Nets First Alkmaar Goal; Emenike, Ideye Also First Leg Winners

Nigerian forward Fred Friday scored his first Europa League goal for AZ Alkmaar who defeated Vojvodina 3-0 in Thurday's first leg play-off clash for the UEFA Europa League  in Serbia, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Friday, 20, doubled Alkmaar's lead before half time after  Stijn Wuyten had given the Dutch side the curtain raiser in the 32nd minute.

Emmanuel Emenike played all 90 minutes in Fenerbahce's 3-0 win over Swiss side Grasshoppers in Istanbul.

The former Nigeria international who scored three goals for the Yellow Canaries as they were knocked out of the Third Round of the UEFA Champions League fixture against Monaco is expected to lead the line again in the second leg in Lusanne.

At the MCH Arena in Denmark, Raheem Lawal played for an hour in Osmanlispor's 1-0 win over Midtjylland who paraded Riliwan Hassan and Paul Onachu from start. Both players were yellow carded in the encounter.

Wilfred Ndidi was in action for Genk who forced NK Locomotive to a 2-2 draw.
