Fulham goalkeeping coach Jose Carreira has decided to leave his role at Fulham so he can return to Spain. The former Deportivo La Coruna player has been with the club since the start of last season, and was one of Slavisa Jokanovic’s first appointments to the backroom team following the departure of Tim Flowers last summer.
He helped the club bring in two Spanish keepers over the summer with the Cottagers paying £5million to sign Fabri from Besiktas and sealing a loan move for Sergio Rico from Sevilla.
There are conflicting reports over his departure with one report claiming that he informed the club of his desire to leave due to his family being unable to settle in London.
However, another claims that he had a bust up with Jokanovic and other members of his backroom team which has left his position untenable.
Carreira was last seen at the club’s Motspur Park training ground on Wednesday.
It is another blow to what has been a challenging start to the season for Fulham, who have lost their first two top-flight games, despite spending £100million in the summer.
