Fulham Set To Renew Toure Interest

Fulham are reportedly still interested in signing Monaco right-back Almamy Toure when the transfer window reopens in January. The Cottagers, as well as their Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, were heavily linked with signing the highly-rated 22-year-old during the summer, but were unable to strike a deal with Monaco.

Toure remained at the Stade Louis II and was expected to be Monaco’s first-choice right-back although that has not proven to be the case, as Djibril Sidibe, who was tipped to leave the club, and summer signing Benjamin Henrichs are currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

That means Toure has only had limited first-team opportunities so far this season and is now believed to see his future elsewhere despite Monaco’s desire to tie him down to a new deal.

Toure’s current contract is due to expire next summer and clubs from outside France will be able to negotiate with him when the January transfer window opens.

Fulham are expected to be one of those teams, with the Cottagers still in search of a long-term solution to their issues at right-back.

Last season’s first choice in that position was Ryan Fredericks but he left during the summer and Slavisa Jokanovic has since been rotating between Cyrus Christie and loan signing Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
