Despite reports in Australia that he had changed his mind over the job, David Furner says he is committed to the Leeds Rhinos.
The Rhinos are undergoing a massive shake up behind the scenes after a dreadful season saw them fighting for their Super League lives in the middle eights and Furner has been appointed their new head coach.
That appointment was thrown into doubt in mid-week when Australian media reported that he had decided to stay in the NRL and take up the role of head coach for South Sydney Rabbitohs where he had been assistant coach.
England boss Wayne Bennett has since taken that post and Furner has now revealed he never had any intention of joining South Sydney.

He said: “I am very much looking forward to coming to Rhinos.
“Since the appointment I have been looking forward to my relationship again with Leeds Rhinos, Gary Hetherington, chief executive and obviously Kevin Sinfield, director of rugby and the fans.
“I don’t want to put any fuel there with any speculation, but I am booked to fly on November 5 so I am very committed to coming over and very excited about it as well.Copyright © 2022 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
