Former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation , Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima has expressed confidence in the ability of Kano Pillars to overturn a four-goal deficit when they host Moroccan side, Moghreb Athletic Tetouane, in the return leg of their CAF Champions League first round game.
The Nigerian league champions suffered a 4-0 defeat in the first leg at the Stade Saniat Rmel but hope to get the needed victory at the Sani Abacha Stadium to progress in the continent’s top-tier club competition.
“It seems a difficult task but one that is very possible,” Galadima said.
“The first leg defeat was a heavy one but not one that we cannot surmount. The players are ready for the challenge ahead,” Galadima told the media.
Nigeria’s other CAF Champions League representatives, Enyimba FC will depart the country on Friday for their return leg clash with Smouha FC of Egypt, scheduled forSunday. They will travel aboard Egypt Air from Lagos.
A letter from the Egyptian Football Association has informed the NFF that the match will be played at the Alexandria Stadium in Egypt’s second city, starting from 5pmEgypt time.
Enyimba won the first leg in Aba by a lone goal.
