Gambo: Vietnam Deal Failed After I Slept At Airport For Four Days

By Sab Osuji:

Kano Pillars and Super Eagles striker, Gambo Mohammed, is fuming with rage over what he termed untold hardship he suffered in Instanbul, Turkey, on his way to Vietnam for the now botched deal with Song Lam Nghe An FC, a Premier V-League side.

"I boarded Turkish Airline and when we landed at Instanbul, I was not allowed to proceed to Vietnam", Gambo narrated to Completesportsnigeria.com on Wednesday.

"I slept at the airport for four days, without food, it was difficult.

"Worst of it all was that even when I came back late Monday night or Tuesday morning, I lost my bag containing five pairs of boots, clothes and other items.

"When I contacted officials of the airline, they gave me a form to fill which I did but I'm yet to hear from them."

Gambo blamed his ordeal on the agent who transacted the deal.

"You know Vietnam doesn't have embassy here in Nigeria.

"So I was told the visa would be issued at point of entry on payment of 30 or 50 dollars.

"But when I got there at Istanbul airport, I was denied passage to Vietnam.

"The agent is based in England, his name is Edwin Nwafor.

"He handled this transaction directly with my club, Kano Pillars, and this is the outcome", Gambo lamented.

Your agent did a poor job.Besides, keep away from some of these tiny countries that can’t pay players salaries. Excuse the temporary homelessness.

  • Your agent did a poor job, as Michael said. Vietnam have embassy in Nigeria. I’m living in Vietnam Hochiminh city.

What an eye owner to other young players. How in world are you going to improve your game there. This mad rush to get out of the country is the reason why we are not even in top ten country in Africa. This is the worst set of nigerian Eagles ever. With inexperienced coach and sport administration that is not fit to organize secondary school games. What a wonderful country!!!
