Former Nigeria international Garba Lawal has praised the home-based Super Eagles despite going down 1-0 to a star-studded Cote d’Ivoire side in an international friendly playded on Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
The game which was to prepare the Ivorians for the Africa Cup of Nations which starts this weekend, grabbed the only goal of the game through Salomon Kalou with six minutes left.
In a chat with Sports Radio, 88.9 Brila FM, Lawal said the Eagles gave a good account of themselves.
“I think the Eagles did well despite the fact that they only came together not too long ago. They made it difficult for the Ivorians throughout the encounter and I will say kudos to them.
“Maybe the Ivorians thought because it was a home-based team they decided not to take the game serious but our boys surprised them.”
The team will take on Sudan in another international friendly match coming up on Saturday.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
