Sergio Garcia has confirmed he is heading to the Portugal Masters in a bid to find his form ahead of the Ryder Cup.
The Spaniard was earlier this week named as one of Thomas Bjorn’s four wildcard picks for the biennial event to be played later this month at Paris’ Le Golf National.
After finally breaking his major duck at the 2017 Masters, Garcia has struggled for form and a tough season has seen him record just one worldwide top-10 since March.
The 38-year-old’s last outing came as he finished tied-24th at the Wyndham Championship, a result that meant he missed out on the FedExCup Play-Offs.
Garcia has never previously played competitively at Vilamoura but says he is excited about the prospect of trying to build his form in the Algarve.
“I’m pleased to be able to add the Portugal Masters to my schedule for the first time,” Garcia said. “There are an exciting few weeks ahead and I’m looking forward to playing in front of the crowds in Vilamoura and getting the juices going before I travel to Paris the following week.”4 Secrets To Becoming Rich – How To Get Rich From Nothing: This ebook is a must read for anyone serious about exiting the rate race....
