Gbadebo: Nasarawa United Must Fight To Avoid Relegation

By Adeboye Amosu:

Nasarawa United defender Samson Gbadebo has admitted that the club must  fight hard to escape the drop following their poor start to the campaign, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Solid Miners surprisingly finished third last term, but have struggled to make an impact this season.

Kabiru Dogo's men have lost five out of their opening six games, winning only one.

The Lafia-based outfit currently occupy the last position in the Nigeria Professional Football League table.

They are also out of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 5-2 aggregate defeat  to Algerian side, Club Sportive Constantine in the first round of the competition.

The centre-back said the club must up their performance following Wednesday's 1-0 defeat against FC IfeanyiUbah.

"It's disappointing that we have failed to replicate last season's form this term," the former Lobi Stars players told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"Now  we have our backs against the wall and we must respond. Everyone at the club must now be ready to  fight from now till the end of the season.

"It's going to be a tough fight, but we must be willing to give our best to move out of the relegation zone."
