Germany Thrash Slovakia, Breeze Into Q/Finals

World champions Germany outclassed Slovakia 3-0 on Sunday to book a place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.
The Germans are the only team left in the competition yet to concede a goal.
Jerome Boateng opened the scoring for Germany with a thumping home a volley from the edge of the box inside seven minutes. Mario Gomez and Julian Draxler added the other goals.
Mesut Ozil had a penalty saved not long after the opening goal.
Gomez doubled the lead before the break, turning home after great work from Draxler three minutes later.
Draxler put Germany 3-0 up in the 68th minute of the encounter. The Wolfsburg man smashed home Toni Kroos’ corner from close range.
They will face the winner of the Spain vs Italy game in the quarter-final.
