Black Stars of Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has revealed that he sought the advice of Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi before joining Turkish top flight club Bursaspor, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Badu, 26, on Thursday completed a season-long loan move to Bursaspor from Serie A club Udinese.
He will play alongside Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong who joined the Turkish club from KAA Gent in the current transfer window.
“I have played with Ghana national team for seven or eight years. I played against Turkey in a game which ended in a 2-2 draw,” Badu told Bursaspor’s official website on Thursday.
“I spoke with Akaminko and Onazi (Trabzonspor) here. I know Bursaspor captain (Pablo) Batalla and (Troost) Ekong, I had a chance to meet them. I hope it will be a very good season for us.”
Badu scored the decisive kick for Ghana in the penalty shootout win against Brazil at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
After missing the Ghana squad to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa due to injury, he was part of the side that crashed out in the group stage at the 2014 edition in Brazil.
He also appeared in five Africa Cup of Nations for Ghana (2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017).
