Midfielder Andre Ayew says the Black Stars are determined to win back the fans with good showcase against Uganda today in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The 24-year-old is joining his international teammates late after seeking permission to sort out his club future on transfer deadline day.

Fans in Kumasi have been hostile and chilly to the Black Stars since they arrived in the Garden City on Monday for training.

A section of supporters who were inside the Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday booed the players and it had to take captain Asamoah Gyan talk to them to reverse their stance.

Ayew shares the enthusiasm of the fans and has vowed to get them smiling again with victory today (Saturday).

“I think if the fans were not happy, it is important to know is why they were not happy,” the Olympique Marseille star told Allsports.com.gh

“I don’t think the fans can just wake up one morning and be angry. If they are angry, there is a reason.

“Black Stars are for the fans and the fans are for the Black Stars. I had information earlier that Asamoah (Gyan) had to intervene and I spoke to him too, but I am confident we’ll make Ghana proud again.
