Despite the threat of Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA) that Nigeria stand the risk of being suspended or banned from international football if the Chris Giwa-led NFF board do not vacate office latest midnight on Monday, the Glass House faction with the club proprietor in charge have defiantly remained in the saddle.
The Giwa- led NFF board states after its Executive Committee meeting held on Monday night, that it has written FIFA, ostensibly explaining why the world football ruling body should uphold the body as a legally elected one based on the laid down rules and regulations.
The embattled NFF faction bigwigs released a nine-point Communique at the end of its Executive Committee meeting at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja.
“…The Executive Committee applauds the Leadership of FIFA led by Sepp Blatter and has accordingly replied to the letter dated 29th August, 2014 threatening to suspend Nigeria. Nigerians are hereby assured that there will be no cause for alarm.
“The Executive Committee is informing well meaning Nigerians that elections into the Executive Board of NFF has been successfully concluded. Accordingly, those purportedly selling forms for another elections will be investigated and sanctioned. Furthermore, delegates are informed that there is no congress on Thursday, September, 2014 as rumoured…, the Communique signed by the 1st Vice President, Chief Obinna Ogba, states inter alia.
Among other decisions reached at the Executive Committee meeting which formed the NFF Communique include the suspension of the League Management Company for sabotaging the Week 26 league games.
A six-man committee has been constituted to oversee the running of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and also a reconciliatary committee to meet and reconcile all the factions amongst the football house which will be chaieed by Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima.
