Ibrahima Traore and Nico Elvedi will make their first appearances of the season in Borussia Monchengladbach’s friendly against Bochum. Gladbach are keen to give those players who are not on international duty some valuable playing time in this break and have lined up a game on Thursday evening at the newly-opened Uplandstadion in Willingen.
However, it will also offer head coach Dieter Hecking an opportunity to give a run-out to both Traore and Elvedi, who have recently recovered from a thigh strain and a bout of appendicitis respectively.
“The game has come just at the right time for me,” said Traore on the club’s website.
Hecking also revealed that Mamadou Doucoure will be in contention to make his first-team debut.
He added: “We want him to know what it’s like to wear the Borussia shirt. Even if he only places 10 minutes or so, it’ll motivate him.”
