Glasgow 2014: Boltic, Onyebuchi Win Wrestling Bronze Medals

Nigeria’s men 125kg freestyle wrestler Sinivie Boltic produced a brief but wonderful performance on Tuesday evening in his bronze-winning fight against New Zealand’s Marcus Carney.

Boltic defeated the former New Zealand Rugby player by a massive 11-0

Nigeria’s women’s 75kg freestyle wrestler, Blessing Onyebuchi also won bronze same evening in her fight against Cameroon’s Annabel Ali.

Onyebuchi was the favourite going into the fight, but suffered a knee ligament injury ahead of the contest.

The Nigerian trudged on despite the coaches’ desire for her to stop due to the discomfort she was feeling.

Ali, the Cameroon opponent who regularly aimed at Onyebuchi’s troubled knee eventually won by 8-1.
