Major sponsor of Nigerian national football teams, Globacom, has tasked the Super Eagles to hand a comprehensive defeat to the Red Devils of Congo Brazzaville in their AFCON 2015 Group A qualifier scheduled for the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Saturday.
The last clash between Nigeria and Congo Brazzaville was a group match at the AFCON 2000 which ended goalless.
“We wish to enjoin the Super Eagles to ensure a great start towards Morocco 2015 finals with a resounding victory over the Congolese,” Globacom said in a statement in Lagos on Thursday.
Glo called on the team to file out with a determination to excel and win the match convincingly to take commanding position in Group A.
“We also appeal to all Nigerians to forget what happened at Brazil 2014 World Cup and troop en masse to the stadium to spur the team to victory.
Nigeria is the reigning African champions and we want the fans across the country to support the team massively as they start the journey towards defending the trophy won in South Africa in 2013.
“We feel there is no better way for Nigeria to begin another quest for African glory than winning this encounter convincingly and we believe the Eagles are capable of meeting the expectation of Nigerians,”? the statement said.
