Nigeria’s U-20 Women National team, the Super Falconets, have been tasked to beat New Zealand in the quarter finals match of the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women World Cup coming upon Sunday, 17th August in Canada.
The Super Falconets defeated the England U-20 Women team by two goals to one, to top group C with seven points and advance to the quarter finals of the competition.
Globacom in a press statement in Lagos on Thursday, gave kudos to the team for the victory which not only gave them three full points but also ensured their qualification for the quarter finals.
England went ahead in the fifth minute through Nikita Parris, while the Falconets equalised in the 41st minute through Loveth Ayila when she skilfully beat her marker and released a powerful shot that beat goalkeeper Lizzie Durack of England hands down.
Nigeria’s second goal was scored in the 59thminute through a penalty converted by Asisat Oshoala after she was brought down in the penalty box.
“The Falconets gave a good account of themselves against England; we urge them to sustain the momentum.
