Huddersfield’s Danny Williams feels it is a good time to play Tottenham but is expecting a tough encounter at the John Smith’s Stadium. Williams will play no part in Saturday’s encounter as he continues to recover from a fractured fibula and has yet to make a Premier League appearance this season.
The USA international has had to watch his team-mates pick up just two points from their first six games to sit bottom of the table and they are yet to win a top-flight match this term.
Conversely, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are fifth in the standings, with 12 points to their name, but it has not been all plain sailing for the north Londoners.
They suffered back-to-back Premier League losses plus defeat in the Champions League before beating Brighton in the league and Watford in the Carabao Cup after a penalty shoot-out.
Williams has full respect for Spurs but believes now is the right time to go up against the capital club.
“It’s probably a good thing that we face them now,” he told ESPN FC. “They’ve not had the best start to the season but we all know that Tottenham are one of the best teams in the Premier League.
“Playing against them last season was one of the toughest games I’ve played. Their work-rate is amazing, every player works so hard for the other players and they showed us last year at home what we can expect when they destroyed us.
“But I hope we learn from that game and at the end of the day it’s about us. We shouldn’t make it easy for them because they should still remember that Huddersfield is not an easy place to go to.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
