Gor Mahia of Kenya head coach, Hassan Oktay, is confident his team will edge past their Nigerian opponent, Lobi Stars and book a place in the group stage of the CAF Champions League, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Kenyan Premier League champions will face Lobi Stars in the second leg of their First Round tie at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Saturday.
Oktay ‘ s charges won the first leg 3-1 last Sunday at the Kasarani International Stadium, Nairobi.
“They are a tough team but we should have won by a bigger margin in the first leg. But we go away and we have to keep working hard,” Oktay, who is a Cypriot told Cafonline.com.
“We need to improve a bit in the finishing and we will be okay. We have to avoid conceding first because that will put us under pressure.”
Gor Mahia will miss the services of defensive midfielder, Ernest Wendo who is suspended after picking two consecutive bookings in the competition.
K’Ogalo are looking to become the first Kenyan team to progress to the group stages of the Champions League since the new format was adopted, and Oktay is beaming with optimism.
The overall winner of the game will proceed to the group stages of Africa’s Premier club competition.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
