Nigeria Football Federation's Technical Committee boss, Chris Green says money is not the ultimate motivation for the Super Eagles as they aim to beat Tunisia in their Friday's second Group C game of the ongoing 2016 CHAN in Rwanda to secure a quarter-final ticket, Completesportsnigeria.com.
The legal practitioner who has worked so hard to ensure that Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh gets the information he needs to beat Tunisia in the encounter, says the former Juventus of Italy player has created an atmosphere of harmony in the team.
While speaking with Completesportsnigeria.com, the dark complexioned football administrator reveals that the Super Eagles are likely to be paid their bonuses next week as the federation also expects to receive its allocation same time from the Sports Ministry.
"The fact is that NFF has not received money from our allocation and it's a welcome development that the coach and team understand our predicament," Green tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
"Hopefully, all allowances and bonuses shall be paid by next week at which time the federation hopes of receiving same. For this team, I can tell you that money is not the motivation. That they are playing for Nigeria is enough for them. That's what Oliseh has turned our team into. It is also gratifying that the President, Amaju Pinnick is so passionate that he's working round the clock to ensure that they get paid. I can say, without equivocation, that Amaju Pinnick has landed his passion and he goes about this assignment with dexterity and dint of hard work," Green reiterates.
"We are doing our best. The coach has really created an atmosphere of harmony in the team. Those wrangling and divisions that existed in the past amongst the players are no more. We now have a disciplined team with players that are hungry for greatness. They are also patriotic and feel privileged to be chosen to play for Nigeria. The coach himself has exhibited maturity and high sense of responsibility in these austere times. I was moved when I heard that the coach went out of his way to arrange for our local meals with his money for the players when he noticed that most players have started getting uncomfortable with the meals served by the hotel in Pretoria."
Green however believes Oliseh has great plans for Nigerian football.
"Yes, he has something to offer and like I keep saying, let's join hands and support him. The future belongs to him," he says.
