Antoine Griezmann scored twice as France booked their place in the final of Euro 2016 courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Germany at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille on Thursday night.
Germany had most of the possession but Griezmann scored once in each half to take his Euro 2016 tally to six and take Didier Deschamps’ side to a showdown with Portugal in Sunday’s final at the Stade de France.
Griezmann’s first goal was from the penalty spot after Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger handled the ball in the box towards the end of the first half.
The Atletico Madrid forward sealed the win as he profited from a mix-up in the Germany box to poke home in the 72nd minute.
France went into the match unbeaten in their last 17 tournament games on home soil, and they immediately got on the front foot as they looked to draw on the raucous atmosphere.
The French are on course for a third major tournament trophy at home after winning the European Championship in 1984 and World Cup in 1998 on home soil.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
