Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke to the media Friday afternoon at his news conference ahead of his team’s visit to Bournemouth in the early kickoff on Saturday, and he cleared the air on the transfer speculation around the club.
Guardiola also talked about Man Vity’s opposition in the UEFA Champions League group stages.
“Bournemouth are a team who want to play. The manager is so good in those terms. They started with two defeats but sometimes that can happen,” Guardiola said.
On the injury front, Guardiola confirmed that former Monaco left-back, Benjamin Mendy, will travel with the Manchester City squad to Bournemouth for Saturday’s game, with the French international expected to return from a lengthy thigh injury.
“Mendy is travelling with us. I don’t know if he will play. “Kyle (Walker-Peters) cannot play. Gundogan will play with the second team.”
And in the absence of suspended Kyle Walker, the Spaniard revealed he expects Danilo to start in his natural right-back role for the first time at City.
Guardiola also spoke on the Champions League draw on Thursday that pitted his team with Napoli, Shakhtar Donetsk and Feyenoord in Group F.
“In the Champions League, you expect the first and second pot to be strong but I think Napoli are one of the three best teams in Europe right now.
And talking about transfers, the former Barcelona manager said:
“My dream for one (Messi) is to stay at Barcelona for his career, the other (Mbappé) is a young talent who will decide (his future).”
“(Alexis Sanchez) is an Arsenal player, like Mbappé is Monaco and Jonny Evans is West Brom. You have to ask Alexis.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
