Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says David Silva is a major doubt for Thursday's derby against Manchester United at the Etihad in the Premier League.
Silva went off injured in the first half in City's 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Guardiola also stated that Brazilian young forward Gabriel Jesus is ready to play though not yet in his optimal fitness level, but was sure Sergio Aguero should be in action after also going off against Arsenal with a knock.
"David Silva is a real doubt," Guardiola said in Wednesday's press conference.
"Gabriel is ready, but his physical condition is not optimal. Sergio is much better – he will be ready."
Guardiola stressed that Aguero and Jesus can play alongside each other in City's attack.
"Aguero and Jesus can play together, it depends on the way we want to play. If you play without wingers, more narrow, they can play."
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager praised United for their long unbeaten run while describing the trio of Zltan Ibrahimovic, Jesse Lingaard and Marcus Rashford as quality forwards.
"They are good. Good rival, good quality and a long run in the Premier League without defeat.
"Ibra is an excellent player, but they have Lingaard and Rashford, they are good players as well."
Commenting on his relationship with Jose Mourinho, Guardiola said:"Mourinho and I are neighbours. When we see each other we say ‘hi’."
And on his first season without winning a trophy as a manager: "I have been managing nine years and this is my first without a trophy. It has to happen and it happened.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
