Guardiola Vows To Adapt EPL Style, Hails koeman

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that he his adapting to life in the English Premier League ahead of Saturday's clash against Everton.

The Spaniard joined the Citizens from German club Bayern Munich and has guided them to the top of the table in his first few months in charge.

Despite the rigours of managing in the English top flight the Catalan insisted he will not change his footbaling ideals even though he admitted it was tough adapting to the Premier League, as he did in Spain and Germany.

"At every stage, every club, every country has its own specific things and you have to adapt and adjust," the former Spanish midfielder said in his pre-match conference on Friday ahead of the game against Everton.

"I played in different styles against difficult problems the opponents created in the last seven years and that's beautiful.

"The way I want the players to win the game is the way I believe. At Barcelona we were a very good team but during the season may be we crossed the ball ten times. We attacked a lot in the middle for the quality we had at that moment.

"At Munich, it was completely different, we had big strikers and amazing wingers. The way you play depends on the players. But the fundamentals are the same."

The game will afford Guardiola the opportunity to square up against Everton boss Ronald Koeman the man he played with as part Barcelona's Dream Team in the 90's and he has nothing but kind words for his former team mate.

"He always played good in the big games. He was amazing. He's one of the best central defenders I've met in my entire life.

"When I was younger so I look up to (Koeman). He is a big friend of mine so I appreciate his words.
