Ernests Gulbis believes he is playing well enough to get the better of Stefanos Tsitsipas in Sunday’s Stockholm Open final. The Latvian came from a set down to defeat John Isner 1-6 6-3 6-3 to reach his seventh ATP Tour final and he will take on Greek starlet Tsitsipas.
Gulbis has a phenomenal record in finals, winning all six of his singles showpieces, while also remaining undefeated in two such outings in doubles.
His opponent, Tsitsipas, proved too good for Fabio Fognini on Saturday, beating the Italian 6-3 6-2, and has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, with the highlight being his victory in Barcelona.
Sunday’s clash marks the first time the pair have met on tour and while he accepts he will have his work cut out, Gulbis believes he has nothing to fear due to his current form.
“I like the way I am playing now, I like the way I am feeling, the way I am hitting and moving” said Gulbis. “If I play like this, I can beat anybody.
“I can give anybody trouble, for sure, so it is not going to be an easy match for [Stefanos] tomorrow. It is probably not going to be an easy match in general.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
