Arsenal legend Ian Wright has admitted that he wished Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru had signed for the Gunners instead of Everton.
Onyekuru, 20, who will spend next season on loan at Anderlecht, joined Everton from Belgian topflight club KAS Eupen on a five-year deal on Friday.
The young striker had attracted interest from some of England's top clubs and Arsenal were among those heavily linked to the Nigeria international earlier in June, but Everton won the race for his signature.
Despite his disappointment that Onyekuru chose Everton over Arsenal, Wright wished the youngster good luck.
"Was hoping he'd join Arsenal. Got a good feeling about him Brent's. Good luck Henry," Wright wrote on his Twitter handle.
Onyekury who scored 24 goals in 41 appearances for Eupen last season, is the third player to join the Merseyside outfit this summer, following Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen to Goodison Park.
