Hannover 96 head coach, André Breitenreiter’s confidence in in Joel Sarenren Bazee is beginning to wane following series of injuries that has slowed down the striker career since joining the newly club which just got promoted to the Bundesliga , Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Speaking on the club's website after team doctor informed that the striker will be going under the surgeon's knives once again after he copped a ruptured tendon injury on Thursday, coach Breitenreiter says he is beginning to doubt Bazee’s ability to cope with the strain and gritty of the German Bundesliga.
"This has been going on for years," remarks the Hannover 96 coach.
"We will now turn it upside down with all the medical examinations.
"It has to be found why he cannot withstand any contact with opposing player without picking injury. Somewhere the solution must come.”
Bazee's Consultant, Florian Goll, believes the player is blessed with talent to excel aside from technical and tactical weaknesses which are not unusual in a young professional, but might lack the body that a Bundesliga player needs.
It would be recalled that Bazee was pulled out of Nigeria friendly against Senegal in London due to injury and has continued to battle series of injury setbacks since then.
Even in his junior age, he was tormented with injuries. It tweaked times at the knee and sometimes at the thigh, again and again paused.
A year ago, he had to be operated on the hip and was only used for the first time on the eleventh week of the league.
Currently, Hannover '96 can no longer plan with Sarenren Bazee.
His dream is to speed up his recovery, and hopefully, come into the starting block as new season approaches.
