Jonjoe Kenny admits his hard work is paying off as he continues to enjoy an extended run in the Everton first-team.
The England under-21 international has capitalised on the foot injury suffered by Seamus Coleman during last month’s international break, as he has started the Toffees last four games and has impressed from right back.
Kenny, who has received praise from boss Marco Silva for his recent performances, struggled for first-team opportunities during the opening weeks of the season, but he has revealed the work he did on the training pitch during that time has stood him in good stead following his return to action.
“I got told by a lot of ex-professionals, ‘While you are not playing, work on stuff you need to work on’,” Kenny told the Everton website.
“That is what I tried to do. I tried to do bits of crossing, keep myself fit and healthy and look after myself. Because when the games come, if you do get in, it is tough to be doing that.”
Coleman is closing in on a return to first-team action following his injury lay-off, but Kenny is likely to keep his place in the starting line-up for Saturday’s Premier League trip to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
