Burnley keeper Joe Hart says he is ready to resume his England career immediately if asked, but is concentrating on the Clarets.
The former England number one has had an eventful few years as he struggled to find a club willing to give him regular first-team football, and he missed out on the World Cup as a result before a summer move to the Clarets changed everything.
A regular run in the Burnley first team, due to injuries to Tom Heaton and Nick Pope, has seen Hart get back to top form and he insists he is ready if England come calling.
He told Sky Sports: “If I was asked to play for England tomorrow, I’d be ready. But at the moment, managers are always going to have opinions. I can only get myself as I can, to the highest of my level, and then it’s up to everyone else.
“Stuff out of my hands is out of my hands, how people want to play it is up to them. I am going to continue to push, Burnley is obviously my priority, and whatever happens, happens.”11 BUSINESS NUGGETS FROM SUPER EAGLES BRONZE MEDAL TRIUMPH.
