Tyrrell Hatton says he is determined to repeat his Ryder Cup exploits in two years’ time following the weekend of his golfing life. The 26-year-old was one of five rookies in the European side and he was proud of his and the team’s efforts, as they brushed aside the challenge of pre-tournament favourites the USA at Le Golf National in Paris.
Hatton, alongside Paul Casey, overcame world number one Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler 3&2 on Saturday having been narrowly beaten by the excellent pair of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas the day before.
“It’s very special,” Hatton said. “It has been an honour to be part of this fantastic European team. We are all absolutely delighted to win the Ryder Cup back for Europe.
“Not many guys get to be part of a winning Ryder Cup team. It was my first Ryder Cup and it’s been a dream come true.
“I’ve absolutely loved the week and, of course, I’ll be trying my best to make the team in two years’ time.”
