I wish to direct my comment here to the NFF. The NFF and the Nigerian fans should trust and very patient with Sunday Oliseh and his assistants, the same way they were with Clemence Westerhof.

  • yes is what people we want olishe is
    better than Stephen kench

firstly am expecting oliseh to change the fortune of our national team.there by generating a free flowing and exciting football in the super eagles.secondly.i will like oliseh to look at the grassroot football in nigeria especiall the npfl.he should develope a way of blending them into finish product.

    Nff should give Sunday the

  • Sunday Oliseh is a good candidate and he has the experience. Him being a sport analyst is a big plus.

Well, first of all, congratulations to him. Personally speaking,Oliseh should be honest with himself. My expectation for him is to scout talents from all over the country and even outside it. If need be,still give the older players some roles to play in building up of a new Super Eagles. If possible, get to call some who may left to come back for a while. Discipline is most important here as some players have egos the size of elephants and whales. Mix them all together. All the VERY BEST to him…

Personally,I think Oliseh is ‘not’ the savior of our dear super Eagle with respect to experience but that’s not withstanding because the deal is done. Firstly, he must develop long, medium and short term goal with respect to achieving positive result. The long term should focused on how to develop our philosophy on the game in our leagues this were unity in purpose comes to play from both the coaching crew, nff and Nigeria at large, strategies winning and attractive football and not building a team everyday.

i beleive is oliseh i no he will take nigeria too greater hight

  • Dickson Ukolojo 6 years ago

Olishe, should drop his stubbornness so that d players can obey his instructions bcuz i learnt that he was very stubborn during his service in super eagles.
He must be unbias in terms of players selection, although NFF Is Nigeria football problem.
He must rely on highest goals scorer.
He must put God first before any other things.
He should nt go far away to Keshi players before else Nigeria football will go back d beginning again. I wish him best luck to do more than what Keshi did.

my advise to oliseh is start making clarance swicth 4 alex iwobi of arsenal and jordan ibe of liverpool and also samy ajayi. Etc. Then 4 our nigerian lads like ihenacho, benerd bulbua, taiwo awoniyi, moses simon shuld all be promoted to d super eagles.# i wish him good luck#

Congratulations to sunday oliseh on his new appointment as the eagles’s first team coach. Although he’s new to coaching role,I still expect a lot from him. My candid advice for him are: 1.HE SHOULDNT GET CORRUPTED;Nigeria football is full of corruption, players do bribe their way into the national team,he should therefore ignore any advances from players he should ALWAYS choose his squad on merit and performance. 2. BOTH YOUNG AND MIDDLE AGE GRASSROOT FOOTBALLERS MUSTNT BE IGNORED. Nigeria is so bless with footballing talents, they shouldn’t be ignored in the national team.countries like brazil, argentina, france do go deep into their grassroot level to scout for talents. He should try and emulate that idea. 3.THE U17s,U20s,U21s and U23s,SHOULD BE GIVEN CHANCES IN THE EAGLES SQUAD;the legendary footballer “PELE” got his first national team call up aged just 17 and eventually won the world cup 3 times for BRAZIL. If we give the likes of awoniyi, kelechi, yahaya chances with the national team, that’s a step closer to success. In total conclusion,he should be disciplined, focus, relentless, prayerful and have trust in his own prowess.GOOD LUCK BRO,MAY GOD HELP YOU.

  • I know Mr Sunday Oliseh where we lived at Iba with his family years back.He is a very disciplined man and dedicated to what he does.I trust him to take Eagles to a higher height. What i will advice him is that he should work with his team as a leader and not a boss.He has sown by example while he was a player by agitating for the welbeign of players in the team then,i hope he contines that,he should avoid a confrontational attitude and should be a listening Manager.Choose your tactictics and game plans and stick to it,by so doing we will not have a bunch of individual players but a collective team effort.Every animousity between players must be settled as soon as it is known to avoid faction.I wish my friend all the best and i am in prayers with him to succeed

I expect Sunday Oliseh to pay attention to local players, these players have the qualities to turn around the fortunes of the Super Eagles if they are encouraged.

He should revisit the style and method used by Clemens during his time as Technical Adviser. The style made the Super Eagles to be outstanding especially the class of ’94.

He should also uphold the principle of discipline and unity in the team. The foreign based players should be invited based on their current form and not mere name.

  • Bankole 6 years ago

Let me first congratulate Oliseh for this wonderful opportunity which l guess he has been waiting for. Now my expectation of him is simple – he should try to learn from the mistakes of his predecessors ( Keshi and Siasia ); who both failed by refusing to select players on merit. He should place national interest above his own personal gains by selecting players on current forms. besides and like he said in his opening remark; he should not wage wars against established playerslike the duo of Keshi and Siasia. if he can earn to manage the shortcomings of every player on his least he should achieve a better success than his colleagues whether he has experience or not. Best regards

  • Oliseh is a good one for Super Eagles. He has all the know-how judging from his CV. HIS analysis with Super Sports is something to admire. Having said that, Nigerian expect much from him. First thing first. Qualification for the 2016 AFCON. This requires that he invade Arsenal fc and other clubs of the world where there are Nigerian players and make concrete deals to convince them to play for Nigeria. Secondly he should organise our league to make it lucrative and attractive like South Africa’s
where foreign players will like. Thirdly he should source for sponsors for the Super Eagles. Now that he is hot is the time to start before they discover that it it is not as we thought. lol

Olishe Must have the conviction that he is better than those before him, he should have a strong will power and get the job done. There should be no restrictions on player’s invitation, if he refuse to compromise there will be a price to pay. We do not need a messiah but a competence and dedicated Manager, after all, who has been?

  • in as much as we the ngigerina kno that olise is we should be awere of his mfian role he play ? So he will not pull the egael into cocus it is possible .

  • Nwosu Mezie 6 years ago

The new coach should not play experimental football

  • Rufus Orindare 6 years ago

Having read one of his interviews in which he saw Guardiola as the best coach in the world, I expect Oliseh to adopt some of his styles.  I will expect an eclectic blend of Barcelona-esque and Arsenal-ish brand of soccer in which there is no room for showmanship and ball is passed around with effortless ease and when it's lost to the opponent, every player works tirelessly to get it back.  I will expect Oliseh to start looking for a replacement for Enyeama.  One, he has served Nigeria well.  Two, he's not getting younger.  Three, judging by his response to Keshi's firing, he seems like a Keshi loyalist and that does not augur well.

I will expect Oliseh to curtail the excessive ball hugging typical of African players, especially Mikel Obi who deviates completely from how he plays for Chelsea when he plays for Nigeria.  I will expect the new coach to modify his pledge to restrict call to the national team to players who play in first divisions only.  He can un-earth gems in the raw in lower leagues as long as they can fit into his playing pattern.  I will expect our coach, yes, our coach to give the number 10 jersey to Rabiu Ibrahim with immediate effect and automatic alacrity.  I will expect him to begin in earnest a search for a striker in the mould of late Yekini Rashidi.  Did I hear someone mention Awoniyi? As soon as practicable, I will expect a return to the wing game we are know for.  In essence, the coach needs to beging the search for Amunike and Finidi's replacement. He needs to avoid throwing the baby out with the bath water.  By that I mean he should completely jettison some of the players that played in the past but find a way of mixing the old with the new as found in the U-2 and U-20 teams.  We have work to do.  Let's go Nigeria.
