Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed that he’ll be rooting for Arsenal in tonight’s Champions League last 16 showdown with Monaco, for the good of English football.
Hazard has friends at the Principality club, who hold a 3-1 first leg lead going into Tuesday’s second leg after stunning Arsenal with an exhibition of ruthless counter-attacking football at the Emirates last month.
Arsenal face a gargantuan task to turn things round at the Stade Louis II and reach the last eight, but perhaps with one eye on keeping a Premier League rival playing three times a week he wants the Gunners to defeat the odds and win tonight.
“I have a friend Ferreira-Carrasco over there [at Monaco] and I wish him the best,” Hazard is quoted by the Daily Star as telling Canal Plus.
“But for English football, I hope Arsenal go through.”
