Eden Hazard is a doubt for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Bournemouth on Wednesday due to a foot injury. The Blues playmaker picked up the issue in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Brighton and will undergo a late fitness test before it is decided if Hazard will feature in the matchday squad.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri may not risk the Hazard with a busy festive programme ahead, while the Italian was set to make changes to his starting line-up anyway.

The likes of Davide Zappacosta, Gary Cahill, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Cesc Fabregas all look set to come into Sarri’s first XI, while Olivier Giroud will likely start up front in the absence of Alvaro Morata. Morata picked up a knee injury in last week’s Europa League game at MOL Vidi but assistant boss Gianfranco Zola gave a positive update on the Spaniard’s fitness at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference. “He twisted his knee against Vidi. I don’t think it will take long but he won’t be in contention tomorrow,” he said.
