Travis Head appears set to realise his dream of playing Test cricket for Australia when the tourists face Pakistan this Sunday Head scored an unbeaten 90 in Australia’s tour game against Pakistan and is keeping his fingers crossed that head coach Justin Langer gives him the nod for the first of two Tests against Pakistan in Dubai.
“It’s a boyhood dream to play (Test cricket) for Australia,” said Head on Friday.
“We’ve had a couple of guys do it in the last couple of years. They’ve only had limited opportunities but it’s still (an achievement).
“It’s an amazing time to be around and an amazing experience. To join that group is nice. Fingers crossed it happens.”
Australia are expected to field three debutants – Head and fellow batsman Marnus Labuschagne and Aaron Finch, while Michael Neser is up against veteran quick Peter Siddle for his first Baggy Green cap.
Finch and Head will definitely make their debuts on Sunday, with Langer stating the pair were “certainties to play” in the lead up to the match.
“It’s a weird feeling knowing that I’m really ready to go and I’m trying not to think about it too much,” added Head.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
