Heartland of Owerri captain, Chinedu Efugh is the least pleased with the officiating of his team's clash with Oriental rivals, Enyimba, which they lost 2-0 Wednesday in Aba.
Efugh says the match arbiter got plenty of his decisions wrong which affected, one way or the other, the final outcome of the match day-12 tie.
"It's not as if one is complaining, but when everyone is singing praises of referees for improved performances and you experience what we saw in Aba, it's quite distasteful," Efugh tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
"Enyimba striker, Christian Obiozor, got into the box, under no challenge, without any contact, fell down apparently because of the nature of the pitch, and the man pointed to the spot."
Efugh further recalls that apparently to make up for his misjudgement, in awarding the penalty, the match referee equally awarded the Naze Millionaires an undeserved spot kick.
"As far as I'm concerned, there was no incident that could have warranted the penalty kick he awarded to us," the Heartland captain remarks sincerely.
"It was just that he wanted to make up for the one he awarded against us earlier though we lost it,"the former Enugu Rangers centre-back laments to Completesportsnigeria.com.
Enyimba's 2-0 win, their first win over Heartland in Aba in three consecutive seasons, proved enough to send the People's Elephant to the top of the NPFL log with 22 points.
