Hearts Coach Rules Out Oshaniwa Exit

"I’ve not got any plans to let Juwon go, none at all," Neilson told Edinburgh News.

The Nigeria left-back had a difficult first year in which he was sent off twice, but contributed to the club getting a Europa League ticket by finishing third last season.

“There’s talk about a lot of players at this time of the season but I’m trying to build a squad here,” said Neilson.

“I need cover at left-back, Faycal and Juwon will compete for the left-back position. I’m trying to build a squad, so I can’t afford to let too many go.”

The former FC Ashdod of Israel defender who had earlier revealed two Turkish teams want him this summer and are in talks with his agent will face further competition from new recruit Faycal Rherras this season.

Oshaniwa is expected to play in the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League for Hearts if he stays on at the club.
