Hearts boss, Robbie Neilson, has expressed confidence Nigeria left-back Juwon Oshaniwa, will arrive in Edinburgh this week to complete his transfer.
According to edinburghnews, Oshaniwa has been granted a work permit for his switch to Scotland, but still requires the necessary paperwork that will allow him to travel to the Capital and complete the deal.
Neilson says things are progressing and hopes to finally land his man over the next few days.
“It’s moving all the time,” says the Hearts boss. “It’s just that it takes time to get someone in to the country – you can’t just pick up the phone and bring them over. There’s a process that has to be gone through and you have to respect that as well, so it takes time but hopefully it’ll be at some point this week. Whether that’s early or late this week I don’t know, but we’re dealing with the British and Nigerian authorities.”
Oshaniwa will be joining Hearts from relegated Israeli side, Ashdod, who were demoteded last season.
He was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 AFCON in South Africa, and also featured at last year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
