Hertha Berlin loanee Marko Grujic has sustained ankle ligament damage and could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines. The Serbia international joined the German outfit on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool over the summer and he has already featured on four occasions.
He has played a key role in helping the club to enjoy a strong start to the term and they currently sit second in Bundesliga.
However, it appears they will be unable to call on Grujic for a while after he sustained an injury the 4-2 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach over the weekend.
Hertha’s general manager Michael Preetz said: “Marko has managed to make a significant difference to our game in the short time he has been with us, which is why the loss for him personally and for us is very, very bitter.
“Now we will look after him and help him, so that he can play that role as soon as possible.”
