Hibernian manager, Neil Lennon, has revealed that negotiation concerning a substantive signing of loanee Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose from Celtic is in progress.
Ambrose, 28, has been integral to the success of Hibs this season, helping them win the Scottish Championship title and promotion to the topflight.
And Lennon disclosed that Hibs are locked in talks aimed at bringing Ambrose back to Easter Road, while he is also hopeful of clinching a deal for other players.
“We have got talks with Ambrose ongoing,” Lennon told BT Sports.
“I think sometimes momentum is important going into a new season so on top of what we have, we want to add some quality – watch this space.”
Ambrose played only two Champions League qualifying matches under Brendan Rodgers before he moved to Hibs two months ago.
Following a loan switch from Celtic, Ambrose ll played 12 games in all competitions for Hibernian, including ten Championship matches where he scored one goal.
His highly resourceful stint with Hibernian so far was underscored when he won the Scottish Championship Player of the month for March.
