Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg says he still has some making up to do after his sending off against Leicester. The Dane joined the Saints from Bayern Munich in 2016 and has had a frustrating time of it, producing some excellent performances but always seeming to follow them up with indifferent displays.
In his maiden outing of the new campaign against the Foxes, Hojbjerg received the first red of his career for two cautions and matters were made worse as Harry Maguire fired in a late winner for the visitors.
Although he has since featured against Crystal Palace, scoring at Selhurst Park, the 23-year-old has still not recovered from his dismissal.
In an interview in his homeland, the Copenhagen-born star described the incident as “stupid” adding that he had “crossed the line” and should have known better.
“It was the first time in my career, I was sent off,” Hojbjerg explained to TV2. “In fact, I never thought it would happen because I have to be – and I am – the type of player that needs to be aware I have a responsibility and I need to know where the boundary is.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
