Home Eagles Beat Amateur Water FC In CHAN Friendly

By Adeboye Amosu: The home-based Super Eagles (Home Eagles) defeated amateur club Water FC 1-0 in a test game in Abuja on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Nasarawa United midfielder Douglas Achiv scored the winning goal in the second half of the keenly contested tie.


It was the Home Eagles’ first game since they set up camp in Abuja on Monday.

New invitees Ikouwen Udoh and Suraj Ayeleso also featured in the game.

Salisu Yusuf’s charges are expected to play more test games as they intensify preparations ahead of the African Nations Championship.

The team is expected to leave for Rabat, Morocco on January 2nd for the final phase of their training exercise for the competition, which will be held in Morocco in January and February.

They are drawn in Group C along with Rwanda, 2014 champions Libya and Equatorial Guinea.
