Home-based Super Eagles players are in buoyant mood ahead of this weekend’s African Nations Championship qualifier second leg tie against Burkina Faso after receiving $2,000 as bonus for the win against the Stallions on Saturday Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
The Eagles won the game at the Adokiye Amiesiemaka Stadium, Port Harcourt 2-0 courtesy of strikes by Bature Yaro and Gbolahan Salami.
One of the players revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com that they are happy that their efforts have been rewarded and are looking to secure the ticket to the competition in Rwanda.
“They (the Nigeria Football Federation) paid each player $2,000 for the win against Burkina Faso and we are delighted with that,” the player Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Now, we are looking forward to the return leg in Ouagadougou this weekend and hopefully we will get another positive result against them.
“We are happy with the first leg result and we will do all we can to protect the advantage.”
