How Home Eagles Rated Against Tunisia

Completesportsnigeria.com's IZUCHUKWU OKOSI rates the home-based Super Eagles after they drew 1-1 against Tunisia in their second Group C match of the 2016 African Nations Championship on Friday.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa
The Sunshine Stars of Akure goalkeeper had another brilliant game on Friday for the Super Eagles. The former U-23 keeper kept out most of the shots that came his way from Ahmed Akaichi and other Tunisian players.

Ezenwa coordinated his defence well but was unable to stop Akaichi's equaliser. 7/10.

Zenith Ziva

Matthew Etim
Matthew Etim had an average performance in the game. He did made some good runs down the channels but his defensive awareness was not so astute. However there was a second half clearance he made that was timely. 5.5/10.

Chima Akas
The Eagles captain led well from the back. His clearances and tackles were great though the Tunisians did not threaten much from his position.

The Sharks FC left back even had the luxury to spearhead a counter attack towards the end of the game. 7/10.

Stephen Eze
The Sunshine Stars defender had a good game, reading the game intelligently. Once again, his height came to good effect as he mopped out most of the dangers and won several aerial duels. 7/10.

Austin Obaroakpo
The Abia Warriors defender came into the starting line-up after missing the first match against Niger and had an OK game. The highlight of his performance was a goal line clearance in the second half with Ahmed Akaichi ready to score from a rebound.

The defender found the massively built and physical Akaichi a very difficult customer to contain. 6/10.

Usman Mohammed
The Taraba FC midfielder won many balls in midfield and distributed his passes brilliantly. He had a shot saved in the first half. 7/10.

Paul Onobi
The midfielder had a better performance than his first against Tunisia. In the first half, his tackles were so timed but overall, he had a far more better second half. 6/10.

Ifeanyi Matthew
The El Kanemi midfielder gave away the passes in the first half but grew into the game. He also forged forward a couple of times to support the attack. 6/10.

Prince Aggreh
The winger sure is talented, he has the footwork to make his markers go dizzy but his end product are most times disappointing. He either makes a poor cross after a great mazy run and dribbling move. In this game, he couldn't go past his marker most of the time. 5.5/10.

Osas Okoro
The star of the match. Osas Okoro assisted Chisom Chikatara with Nigeria's goal in the 52nd minute, his third of the Championship. His pace and crosses were also handful for the Tunisians. 8/10.

Chisom Chikatara
The Abia Warriors striker was a marked man in the match by the Tunisians who anticipated him to be the greatest danger from the home Eagles. For most part of the first half, the 'Kolanut boy' was isolated and had to play with his back to goal as thr Tunisians double-marked him.

However his goal in the second half showed that defences will struggle to shut out a striker of his quality.

Chikatara's decision to calmly place the ball rather than use power was intelligent, with keeper Rami Jeridi stranded. 7/10.

Orji Kalu
The defender had an efficient game. He stood toe-to-toe with Akaichi. His clearance and tackles were timely. He defended stoutly. 6/10.

Ikechukwu Ibenegbu

The experienced midfielder came off the bench in the game and made key passes in the final third. Not much time to make a lasting impression but his introduction paid off as he drew fouls and kept the Tunisians at the back foot. 5.5/10.

Ezekiel Bassey
The winger replaced Prince Aggreh but could not make much impact in the dying moments. He sure has pace to burn and perhaps needs to start for his quality to shine through. 5/10.
