Home-based Super Eagles defender Olamilekan Adeleye is hopeful he will be fit enough to play for the team at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after picking up a knee injury in the side’s Nigeria Professional Football League Invitational tournament fixture against Plateau United on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
Adeleye picked up the injury early in the game and was replaced by Kalu Orji.
“I was afraid it was a serious injury after I was stretchered off but tests have confirmed it is not something serious,” the central defender informed Completesportsnigeria.com here in Kano.
“I will be out for around two weeks which gives me the chance to stiil be part of the team for the CHAN.”
CHAN is scheduled for Morocco from January 13 to February 4, 2018.
