By Johnny Edward: Nigerian defender Stephen Eze says he is excited to have joined Bulgarian top division club Lokomotiv Plovdiv and he is looking forward to a wonderful year at the club, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Eze, who was unveiled on Thursday by Lokomotiv Plovdiv, was one of Nigeria’s standout performers at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco where the Home Eagles won silver.
The former Sunshine Stars, Lobi Stars and FC IfeanyiUbah star signed a two-year deal at the club after impressing in the colours of the Home Eagles at the CHAN tournament.
“Very excited to join Team #Lokomotiv #Plovdiv in #Bulgaria. Many thanks for the most heartening welcome and look forward to a wonderful year ahead to play a part in the success of the club,” Eze tweeted via his new official handle @DefendLikeEze.
Eze alongside his compatriot Dayo Ojo were named in the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Team of the Tournament.
The 23-year-old defender could make his home debut against OFK Pirin on Sunday in a league game.
Lokomotiv Plovdiv are ninth in the 14-team Bulgarian top flight table with 23 points from 20 games.
