Super Eagles midfielder Hope Akpan has assured that the Nigerian national team will give their best to ensure they get a positive result when they play against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Sunday.
The Eagles will play the second of their friendlies after Wednesday’s unimpressive 1-0 defeat to the Cranes of Uganda.
Reading FC of England midfielder, Akpan, took to Twitter to apologise to Nigerians over the defeat to the eastern Africans while looking forward to Sunday’s game at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
“The 1-0 loss to Uganda was not the result we wanted, but there were positives from the performance of players still getting together.
“We’ll improve in South Africa,” Akpan who also used the opportunity to salute captain Vincent Enyeama on his 100 caps for the Super Eagles wrote on Twitter.
The Eagles are expected to fly to South Africa today (Friday) ahead of the friendly match.
Meanwhile, Ogenyi Onazi reveals that playing for the Super Eagles gives him the greatest satisfaction. The Lazio man was also on Twitter to express his feelings.
“Arise O compatriots! My proudest moments remain the opportunity to wear the Green-White-Green and represent Nigeria”.
