AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month award for January.
It’s the first time this season that Howe will win the coveted manager’s award.
Howe, who guided his side to victories over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and against Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium in January, beat Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola who was a named the manager of the month for the last four months, Carlos Carvalhal (Swansea), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool), Jose Mourinho (Manchester United), David Moyes (West Ham) and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham) to the award.
Bournemouth are placed 10th in the English Premier League table with 31 points from 27 games.
Meanwhile, Willian won the English Premier League goal of the month for January for his strike in Chelsea’s 4-0 win at Brighton Hove Albion.
The winner for the the Barclay’s Player of the Month is yet to be announced.
Manchester City stars Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne are up against Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertongen (both of Spurs), Eden Hazard (Chelsea) and Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) for the award.
