Hudson – Terriers Sticking Together

Huddersfield coach Mark Hudson believes by sticking together the club can survive in the Premier League this season. The Terriers are currently propping up the division and they are the only top-flight side yet to register a league win.

History suggests it can be tough for sides during their second season in the Premier League, and, after narrowly avoiding relegation last season, Hudson admits teams may have worked Huddersfield out a little, although he also feels they have been unfortunate as they have had a tough run of fixtures over the opening weeks of the campaign.

“If you look at our run of games it has been really tough and we know that the second season in the Premier League can be tougher than the first,” he told Sky Sports. “People have a better idea of what you are about and try to work you out.”

Huddersfield will be hoping to end their wait for a first league win of the season when they play host to fellow strugglers Fulham on Monday night.

A victory at the John Smith’s Stadium will be enough to lift the Terriers off the bottom of the standings and, regardless of Monday’s result, Hudson is hopeful the camaraderie within David Wagner’s squad will be enough to ultimately keep them in the division.

“We are all striving for more and trying to eke out those percentages,” the 36-year-old, who captained Huddersfield to promotion in 2017 added. “With the work ethic that we have, we will stick together because we knew it wasn’t going to be easy.”
