Huddersfield Town assistant coach Andrew Hughes insists the mood is still high in the camp despite their slow start. The Terriers have yet to win this season, with David Wagner’s men only picking up two points from their first five games.
Wagner’s side defied the odds last year when they avoided relegation but some fans are worried they will eventually return to the Championship.
Despite their slow start, Hughes says Wagner is keeping the spirits high as they prepare to face Leicester on Saturday.
He told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner: “The mood is tops. The spirit is never, ever, down here.
“The players get paid, and we get paid as a staff, to do the best job in the world. It’s a big thing, but no-one ever comes into this club unhappy.
“They are really happy and focused. A lot of people say your confidence and spirits must be down because of the results, but that’s rubbish.”
He added: “We create the mood and we create the environment – and it is always top class.
“The players are brilliant, the staff are brilliant and the manager leads from the top with his attitude and that flows right through the club.
“The energy and the feeling here is always good.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
